No Return/Exchange on specific ILCs

Our customers are not allowed to exchange or return any item within one category. Is there a way to prevent cashiers from accidentally exchanging/returning these items (within this category)?

I would be nice to have a "reversed" "Block Sales after/during this Date(s)" which only lets you return items but will not let you sell these items. Or better yet an extra option in the item options tab that would let you check the "Not allowed to return/exchange" option.

Any suggestions?

The problem with the Item Message is that when the cashiers are scanning items they don't pay attention to the screen, so when the item message pops up (and they don't notice/see it) the next item scan just closes the Item Message box. So not only does the cashier not notice the message but the scanned item doesn't get rung up (and the customer gets a "free" item and we loose money).

We are already using SubDescription 1, 2, and 3 for Style, Color, and Size.

I'll check into using the Extended Description by I was hoping for something along the lines of "Block Sales of this item" during a time frame but only have it applied in reverse. The "Block Sales of this Item" option won't allow you to sell this item but does allow you to return the item, I need to have this functionality reversed (allow to sell but not to return).

We like to make everything as cashier "fool proof" as possible.
