I believe that most if not all RMS add-ins are 3rd party applications.

Nice attitude, though.

Aldo,

Rick is an RMS reseller, nice attitudes some of these guys have. 'Shut up and buy the dam thing you cheapskate' I hope he doesn't talk to his own clients that way and is he saying DAM as in the Hoover Dam or is he trying to say damn?

I'm with you on the fact that a lot of the custom add-on builders out there charge way too much. Some of them even charge more than RMS itself, which doesn't make one bit of sense. On the other hand you have a company like DRS they have absolutely top notch add-ons and are constantly improving upon them but there prices are reasonable. I just hope they build there own Mobile Suite of products 'cause you know it'll be sweet. Now having said all that more and more of them are starting to realize this and are dropping there prices.

Your friendly neighborhood fire stoker.

Aldo, Our Mobile Work Order add-on that provides this functionality runs @ $500.00 V.S. the $1000.00 Mr Anonymous stated. As a reseller who has been working with Microsoft and RMS since it was first acquired I can tell you that it may take another 5 years before your suggestion is even considered. Because of Microsoft's strict product design, testing and implementation it is very hard for them to make changes and improvements in a timely fashion. Microsoft realized that they could not meet 100% of the needs of all retailers and luckily for everyone they have made RMS very extensible so that resellers and ISV's can help fill the gaps where RMS falls short. This way they are able to sell their product at a very reasonable price and let the end-user pay to have the exact solution they want by using add-ons. There are so many suggestions that are particular to one's business that they could never meet every little demand to make the product work the way many different retailers desire. As an ISV I can tell you that it is not about competition between the resellers and ISV's to sell the most add-ons at the cheaoest price. It is about everyones goal - make the customer happy by creating a solution that fills gaps and meets the customers needs. We all try not to reinvent the wheel if their is already a solution out there that can meet the customer's needs - we just resell another's add-on that will fill the gap. This is what is so great and unique about the MBS partner channel - we all work together to create the best product/solution out there by using each other's add-ons to make a final solution that is exactly what the customer wants. I have never seen this type of union with any other partner channel, and we owe it strongly to Microsoft by creating an environment where this can happen and flourish. Best of luck to you and your suggestion and I hope in the end you create a solution that does exactly what you want.
