Out of country sales

I have a customer who is going to Denmark to sell items. Their database has items that are priced at US Dollars but they want the capability to have the system automatically convert those items into Danish Krones at POS, receipts and reports. Do they have to convert all the items selling prices to the Danish Krone equivalents manually?? Any suggestions are welcome.

Thank You.

Hi Phil..perhaps a webstore would handle this nicely for your customer. We have a customer that has their RMS database in English but all their web data is in French:

they also havean English version:

is another good example of our multi-lingualcapability (see the Francais / English link in the upper left corner). We also handle currency conversion..truthfully we don't have (AFAIK at least) very many retailers who use this feature but its been available forever..you can see it at

there isa CDN / USD switch in the panel in the lower left. There is no reason why you could not use the multi-lingual capability in conjunction with the currency conversion to achieve what you are after.

RMS reporting is of course another matter but it can be done. There is a language file that you could edit to handle at lot of the UI conversion but the reports would likely need to have some elements re- written - perhaps it would make sense to look at a web based RMS reporting add on such as what Professional Advantage offers.

Hope this helps, Todd

Hi, Phil & Todd. RMS handles multiple currencies and does conversions automatically, even has the option to use a default currency for change. Go into the manager, go to database / currencies and set up your currencies, then add your tender types & assign them to the currencies (don't forget to z out). The currencies will show there. I hope that helps.
