sales

I frequently sell items over the telephone for customers to pick up at a future date. I require them to pay the entire order so as to remove the items from inventory, and obviously close the sale. The problem is that I have to manually track what orders are in the store that have not been picked up. Ideally, I would like RMS to have a way to keep track of these orders, even to provide me with reports on orders paid, but still in my store.

Layaway has some potential, but it appears to be a problem because even if I overide the deposit requirement to be 100%, it will not deplete the inventory.

Anyone with the same or similar problem?

Thank you in advance for your ideas and input,

Ric,

You can do a work order and require a 100% deposit, this way the item will be taken out of the On Hand inventory but has yet to be picked up. Even beter there is a default report that will show you all orders yet to be picked up. When the customer is ready to pick up the order you follow pretty much the same procedure to pick up the order as a layaway.
