physicalinventory problem

I am testing the physicalinventory feature in a test database, I have created a new physicalinventory and have it set to just manually enter items to the count screen. I have added one itemlookupcode to the count list with a count quantity of 60, which is the correct onhand quantity. Then I close the physical inventory screen for the time being, and go into POS and sell one of these items. Then I go back into manager and open up the physical count I just created, calculate it, and it tells me that the expected quantity is, not 59, but 58?? And that there is a variance of 2?? I am the only one performing any activities in this db, and no that the only activity between my creating this count and calculating it, was the one sale of this item.

Why is this not calculating the expected qty correctly?

And also is there a way to force RMS to calculate the expected qty as of a certain time before my sale took place? So that it calculates an expected quantity of 60, the onhand quantity at the time the count was initially created before the sale was performed?

Thank you Kevin

Hi Kevin, regarding your second question, you might ask your RMS partner to explain the method described in KB article 869856 Compute Inventory Cost Report from Previous Date.

I don't think this report is going to help in this situation, this isn't going to help me in making sure that the correct adjustment takes place when RMS adjustments my inventory to account for variances
