POS button to set salesperson

I need a custom POS button to set the salesperson to a specific value.

Every transaction that is run thru our Register One has the same sales person each time, so having to go Control-Shift-Stand on one foot-Turn around twice-push F18-select from the list for each customer checking out is way too much time wasted.

Does someone have the code written out for that already or is it very complicated to do?

Would be nice if I could have a macro with a sendkeys type function.

Shift-F8 will set the sales rep for the transaction. You can also configure POS to require sales rep selection, which means the sales rep window will appear before each sale. Takes no more time than to click on a custom button. You could also program a macro for one of the F keys so that all you would have to do is press F1 or one of the other 11 F keys available. Press ctrl-F3 | select which F key and give it a description | press shift-F8 | Select the sales rep with the up/down arrow(don't use the mouse) and hit enter | Press ctrl-F3 again. Now when you push the F-key you selected earlier it will take you right to the desired sales rep. If you use this macro don't configure POS to require a sales rep for each transaction(you would have to exit out of sales rep selection to use your macro, which defeats the purpose). Craig

it is a problem. When your employees are older...

They can use a mouse to click and they can sorta type, but asking them to hold down the Control key (after you have explained what that IS) another key and then hit a function key......it is a circus..LOL. Like asking them to play Twister.

It is easier for them just to click on something....not have to cycle thru screens.

I did make a macro and I found a dll file online that can make a POS button out of a macro. It sorta works....unless you have several items scanned in and THEN hit the button. You have to hit it before you start scanning.

at least it works.

-------requiring a SalesRep in the setup will make that pop-up screen happen on EVERY ITEM as you scan it right? That wouldn't work.

Thanks! "Craig" wrote:
