POSScribble vs. RMS

Hi, I have done several RMS setups and like the product. I have a client however that currently has their inventory information within Quickbooks and they are looking at a product called POS Scribble

for their POS application. And, I'm having a hard time justifying to them to purchase RMS. The biggest advantage that POS Scribble has over RMS for this client is that it communicates directly with the Quickbooks inventory database, so that as sales are closed this is immediately available and reflected within Quickbooks. If the client went with RMS, they would have to recreate the inventory database and maintain it in RMS; then export the sales data, then import this data into Quickbooks--and this seems like more work than is needed.

Also, for posscribble.com, I've seen this product demo'd and it is robust with features and seems very stable with good customer references. It is actually more expensive than RMS for one seat since it costs $750 plus you have to have a copy of Quickbooks installed on the register.

So, I'm just looking for thoughts and suggestions on this subject.

Thanks! Goldy

I have been involved in one Scribbles install. I provided the POS and back office hardware, 3 Radiant Touch Screen POS terminals and back office servers and workstations. It was a large Marina and Scribbles has a package designed specifically for Marinas, so I never got to first base with RMS. But they wanted to deal with a local reseller for hardware. I think Scribbles is based in Virginia with no local support. This (local support) might be the approach you should take, depending on the endusers application. Even the Marina application depends on the Quickbooks POS interface.

So, what did you think of the application? Was it the best solution for them? I don't quite understand what you mean by

"This (local support) might be the approach you should take, depending on the endusers application."

Do you mean, that for the hardware I should buy it locally for support reasons? I'm just trying to get an overall feel for how satisfied both the customer and the tech installing the software are with the product.

Thanks for your response!
