Post-dated Layaway, Work Order and Inevtory Reports

Is there a way to run a report that shows what Layaways and Work Orders were open as of a previous date - The same question with Inventory - is there a report which shows what inventory was in stock as of a certian, previous date?

Thanks

You can run an Inventory Movement Report to estimate the stock levels of a previous time period. To estimate the ending inventory on June 30th, run the Items Value List for today, then a Movement report for July 1st through today. Subtract or Add the movement totals to the value list totals. To ensure a more accurate figure in the future, make a historical backup of your database at the end of every month or schedule Windows Task Scheduler to do this using a batch file and OSQL commands. Restore this database when needed under a different name, and connect to that database to run your historical reports.

Since inventory quantities on sales orders are committed but not treated as sold, the balance due on these orders is not considered as receivables.

Greg - thanks for that - I think that will work, I will try it out soon.

I also didn't think about using the backup - because I'm paranoid, I back up our system each night and then archive the files - I have backups for each business day on file, so I could just restore the backup for the end of the month, then run the reports, then switch back to the most recent database...

Thanks much.
