QSSession & PoleDisplay & DisplayLines Documentation or anything h

I have the RMS business rules reference in my project and can see the PoleDisplay commands and PoleDisplayLines, etc. etc., but can not get them to work. Does anyone know of any documentation or help I can get in getting the syntax or getting this commands to work? No matter what combination I try I get an object variable not set problem and when I get that to go away my dll still have problems running within RMS. If I make an executable outsite RMS I can talk to the Pole Display through the COM port, but not from within RMS. I even tried having my dll from within RMS launch an EXE file, but from with RMS it does not like that either. I am trying to talk and send things to the poll from within my dll when I want to from within the RMS POS screen. Thanks for any help.
