Question on Pricing Levels - Help

We use the RMS system in our Wine & Spirits store and I have been looking for a way to offer a special price for a case of wine (12 bottles). Now, ordinarily this would not be a problem, as I would simply enter the lower price per unit at the register and it would all add up. But, if it is an item that is "not further discountable", then I cannot lower the price. I could set up an item for the case, but since I sell the item in both bottles and cases, it would throw off my inventory counts.

Any ideas?

Why would having a Case item throw off your inventory values? Have you looked at Parent/Child items?

Go to Item Properties and look at the "Special" Tab. There is a field where you can enter a Parent Item, and the Quantity contained in the Parent. In this case, the Case Item would be the Parent of the Bottle Item and the Quantity would be 12. The online help has a good general description of how Parent/Child works. Read that, then post back if you still have questions. Also, you might want to search back in this newsgroup, as the topic comes up every couple of months...
