Quickbooks

Does MRMS support the class field somehow for integrating with QB2003 or higher?

Multiple SO's to connect to the same QB file but need to know which SO the information came from.

Since we're looking to integrate with QB what G/L entries may be created at the HQ level that we may need to be concerned with?

Thanks,

RMS does not integrate with QB at the HQ level only at the store level as far as I know... mt

That's what I understand. But are there any HQ level functions that can create financial transactions?

If multiple SO's connect to the same QB file how does QB know which SO the info came from?

From what I can see the only way to maintain any separation of SO's is to let the import occur then edit the information in QB to add a class for the transaction(s) representing the SO.

Does this sound reas> RMS does not integrate with QB at the HQ level only at the store level as

I'm not a quickbooks expert, but I think that if you use the old style Quickbooks iif file integration rather than the tighter Quickbooks 2003 integration, you will be able to make some choices in QB when you go to Import the file. I may be totally wrong on this, but it's worth a try.

Thanks Glenn.

I think the Class would have to included in the iif File. It's a straight import (iif file to database) not much to select. Tell QB where to get the file and go. The iif file would contain the type of data and all related info.

Do you know if HQ creates any journal entries if another Accounting is attached to it?

Mike-

Unless someone points out a plugin that does this (which I haven't seen one yet), your best solution is probably to use IIF files (instead of using the XML import) and then use a small program to modify the IIF files and add classes. A programmer should be able to make you a small utility that could handle this in an hour or so...

Isn't there a way to add an XML tag to label the entire XML output file as a specific QB Class?

The brute force way would be to dump a flat file, append a new field called class, and, being careful, typing in the class to that field.

What's the elegant and reliable way?

The only way that I think it can be done is to push the batches to Quickbooks and imediately find the entries and add the appropriate class.

You probably will want posting by batch. Your bank deposits should tie to the batch. So once the batch is posted to QB it will be easier to identify in the QB cash account to reconcile your bank account. If you do one big entry it may be difficult to trace the deposits to the bank statement.
