I know automation errors have been talked about on the board, but this is for the benefit of those searchers who are experiencing this exact error:
Error: Class does not support Automation or does not support expected interface Error: Run time error '430':
Description: When starting Store Operation Manager or POS this error message appears and does not allow user to proceed.
Cause: Installing certain OPOS drivers overwrites files or setting for RMS. It appears to be related to Logic Controls OPOS Cash Drawer Drivers. It may also occur with Star Micronics OPOS printer drivers.
Solution: Install these drivers before RMS. If RMS is already installed, reinstall RMS (be sure to back up any customer reports or templates you have created). Uninstalling the OPOS drivers is not adequate to resolve the issue.
Hopefully this saves some stress (and hair pulling) for someone out there!
