Random numbers generated in kit component's inventory

Hi,

We have used RMS for a number of years and have experienced a problem that has not been able to be solved by either the original owners of RMS (then it was known as Quicksell I beleive), nor Microsoft.

We are experiencing the program seemingly to randomly generate values in the inventory of items we use as kitting components. Due to the nature of our work these items do not use whole numbers. The inventory on hand is a weight and so is expressed with decimal points to two decimal places.

Does this make sense?

The program tends to generate a long number, say 0.000000000000000001 or E2.8888888888883. Really wierd things like that.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Does anyone else use kit components that use decimal places in the inventory and are NOT experiencing this bug?

If someone from Microsoft monitors this Discussion Group, do they have any thoughts?

Regards,

Simon.

I have seen that frequently here on weighed items. We use 2 decimal accuracy on entry at the POS (by hand, not barcoded weights), but will then find an On Hand value like you show, out to like 10 decimal places. I do not know if the recent upgrade to the latest Hotfix version of RMS 2.0 has changed that at this time.

We are now using 2.0.0107, but I have not noticed if the problem was fixed. Prior to this we were running a version of 1.3 just prior to the refresh (sorry, don't know the exact #).

The weights are entered at the cash register (POS software).

We use 1.3.1007.

No idea where that is in relation to your version! It's a stupid problem that we have had for years, and no matter how much bleating it doesn't get fixed.
