The standard reports available in RMS seem rather limited; has anyone found out how to customize reports, add fields, formulas, etc...?
I would be curious to know how difficult this is to do..

check back in the newsgroup - there are usually several report discussions each week. The basics are:
look in the ..\Store Operations\Reports directory the *.qrp files are the tempaltes for the reports you see on the Reports menu in SO Manager you can edit the files by first making a copy of the original version, then unchecking the "Read Only"attributefor the file and opening it in a text editor such as Notepad.
The reports are based on SQL, and if you know that language, it should be very each to figure out.
Simple things like adding fields are extremely easy - other things like adding fields from tables that aren't already included are slightly harder, and some things are pretty much impossible.
Take a look at a couple of the report files then ask some more specific questions if you need to.
