Is there a way to configure RMS to prevent a cashier from returning merchandise to other than the original tender type?

Not in standard RMS. New West Tech has an add-on that vastly improves the return processing (preventing duplicate returns, forcing tender match, etc.) and does other stuff too under the heading of "loss prevention"
