Is there a way to ring up an item that is not in my "item list". Something I don't usually sell that can be rung up as miscellaneous and a price provided.

Chardy,
I _really_ don't recommend it, but just create an item called "Miscellaneous", an ILC of "Misc" and select "Must enter price at POS" on the Properties | Options tab.
Separate it into its own Department because its going to show 100% profit!
Watch out for your employees getting lazy and using that ILC for anything they don't want to look up!!!
That works as a great work-a-round, but as Jeff says "employees get lazy". If my employees can't find it within the first try they default to it. It destroys inventory numbers so bad. Also, when running a report is just labels it as misc. not keeping the details that may have been typed as a description.
Thanks for the help. I'll try and use it sparingly.
I train people to use the Comment function when they use a "miscellaneous" item; this way you can display the comment field in the sales reports.

I have them add comments to "Misc" also. They show up on the receipt but not in the Journal or on reports. Is there something I am missing?
Butch,
In Manager: Configuration-> Options->POS Options->Record Item Comments
Good luck, Matt
