RMS 2.0 slower than 1.3x

Jan 22, 2008 4 Replies

Hi all!

We just upgrade from RMS 1.3 to 2.0, and I realised that the new version is even slower than the older (1.3).

RMS was slow before the upgrade but now it's getting worst and worst.

Is there something I could do in SQL SERVER, like a rebuild indexes, to get it to work faster?

My HQ Server is hosted on a IBM eServer XEON 3.0 with 2 GB of RAM.

Thanks in advance

Julien

Like Outlook 2007 being slower than Outlook 2003? My new Vista machine takes longer than my old XP machine to boot. It takes more mouse clicks to do many tasks in Office 2007 than Office 2003.

Microsoft is going backward.

ARGH!

Microsoft is not going backward, lol.

It's just that you may have to upgrade your computer...

I don't understand why XP is slow on my 486, because you HAVE to be to date in both, software and hardware sides.

The reason why I was asking that... is because v1.3 and v2 are almost the same thing. So why it affects my computer performances that much...

You know years ago I use to download music file in midi format on my 14k modem and now I'm downloading mp3s/wma ... but if I never upgrade my connection type it will be ** slow...

I'm not an MS fan, but telling that their going backward is not true.

If you had read the post, I did upgrade the hardware. I realize that Vista will run slower than XP on the same hardware, but what I am saying is that Vista is slower on my new Dell XPS 710 than XP was on my old Dell Dimension

2400.

That is definitely a step backward.

And that is total garbage that Outlook 2007 should not be faster than 2003 - even on the same hardware. Shouldn't that always be the goal in software "upgrades?"

No, loll,

It could be many things, bug fixes, security issues patching, etc...
