The best way to uprade
- Back up incase You do something wrong You pu back your old data
- Window update.
- Go to control panel ad/remove then remove 1.3
- Now install 2.00
- go to administrator/ connect the data then click on database and click on upgarde data . Now ready to go. I didnt get any problem. Do'nt forget back up
Actually, it's a little more involved in that... You need to add a couple of steps:
- Get hold of the hotfixes for RMS 2.0 and for SQL Server Express 2005 (whatever the real name is!) Do this before your upgrade because the hotfix is password protected and they have to give you all the info to download it.
- I was warned not to upgrade SQL Server (by someone not Microsoft but who knows RMS intimately) because it supposedly takes a lot more memory and will thus slow down some processes. Choose your poison - upgrade as Microsoft says to do or not upgrade and take your chances with glitches.
My upgrade was uneventful - it just took a while.
Good luck. Jennifer
