We are contemplating upgrading to Version 1.3 of MS RMS. We have been told that we cannot have HQ and Store running on different versions whilst they are making connections. So this would mean stopping the connections until HQ and all stores are upgraded. Is this correct? If this is correct, suggestion to MS - make it possible to keep the business running whilst doing an upgrade - e.g. allow upgraded HQ to support connections from Stores that are still to be upgraded?
Upgrade to 1.3

This is not true. I am currently going through the upgrade process. I have
7 stores on 1.3 while HQ is running 1.2. No connectivity problems. I don't know if you would have connection problems if you upgraded HQ first."Dave P" wrote:

Also, I upgraded the stores over a week timeframe. So yes, I had different stores > Thanks Mike, this is a big relief.
The reason is that internally the version history table is 1.2 even though the splash screen says 1.3. So YES you can have 1.2 and 1.3 mixed. This is NOT normally the case version 1 to 1.1, 1.1 to 2 etc... Also I expect later this year when 1.4 comes out and there are no new tables and fields the tables will need to be initalised and the upgrade function will require for the whole enterprise to be on 1.4. This issue has been a major headach for a long time for many, many customers.
