RMS SO: recalling a trans to return can't get original tax info

After the federal tax GST deducts in Canada on Jan 1, 2008, some customers may come to return merchandises which they purchased before the new year. Since RMS SO recalls a transaction only with current system taxes' info, instead of the transaction original taxes' info, a return operation will be hard for store staff. We have to create some taxes definitions to keep the old taxes info, like "GST6%", "BC PST/GST6%", "ON PST/GST6%", etc. in system, to let stores change tax settings for those recalled transactions. Besides, if a customer asking the return is just going to get the tax discrepancy back, we cannot do the "exchange" in one transaction because the tax info in RMS is attached to item. As long as an item tax setting changed in one transaction, you cannot set a different on another row of the item. So we will have to advice our stores to seperate the exchange into 2 transactions: return with changing taxes back first, then sell with default taxes, and calculate the discrepancy manually at last. That seems too much for a busy store, doesn't it?

We hope RMS could get tax info for a recalled transaction from its original record rather than current system settings.

Thanks.
