RMS V1.3

What's the word on this update. Is there any reason not to install this update?

Thanks, Richard

I've installed it at new sites and as an upgrade and have seen no problems to date. Most retailers are not going to install an update during the biggest sales month of the year, no matter how great it is. If you are at all concerned about the update, you should wait. There's a readme file that details the changes that are being made. From a usera's perspective the biggest change is that you no longer have the option to Mask CC numbers - they are always masked now.

In pre 1.3 RMS, even with CC numbers masked, which would prevent the numbers from showing up w/ the receipt the customer walked out with, the full CC number would still appear on 1: The merchants receipt signed by the customer & 2: The EDC Report run from RMS Mgr. Will this still be the same in 1.3?

Tnx, Richard

Richard,

No, they are now masked everywhere. Receipts, database, tender reports, credit card reports, etc.

Does the CC masking function in 1.3 affect RMS integration with ICVerify in any way?

No. ICV keeps their own database, RMS doesn't encrypt that one, although there is a setting within ICV to encrypt.
