Sales Discount

Hi all,

I see where you can assign a discount scheme to customers based on Quantity, but does anyone know of a way to assign discounts to customers based on $'s spent (i.e., the customer's sales volume)? For example, if the customer spends $250 and you want to give them a 5% ($12.50) discount; or if they spend $500 and you want to give them a 10% ($50.00) discount. I have a client that wants to do the for their preferred customers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

1) Open SO POS 2) Ring up items on screen you want to sell. 3) Press Shift F3 Select Perform Discount On All from desired Selection & select Discount Retail Price & finally give the percentage. 4) Press OK.

Hope you will not be disappointed :-)

I would actually go about this in a different manner. I would run a report to generate all customers who have qualified for a discount based on the break down of $ spent, then go into each customer record and under the Options tab set the discount percentage you would like them to receive there. This will ensure you will not forget to assign a discount to anyone, but additionally that over discounting is not occurring.

Unfortunately there are a few drawbacks here but I am sure that you have taken this into consideration:

  1. The running of the report will be a constant as certain customers continue to spend and hit the next bracket of %age off and then update those customers
  2. You will need to ensure that each customer is actually using one record log. Not that the cashiers are creating multiple account records/customer. But, that is usually inevitable, and just a known factor.

OK, I totally misread this. You are talking about a seasonal promotion type of deal. Go with the post by Junaid. This will discount your entire transaction if they spend x amount.

I was thinking you wanted a long term program in place.
