Discounts Options

- How do I make a discount where a customer buy 3 different items and pay only for 2 items of higher price?

- How can I create a scenario where customer spend certain amount of money & they are entitled for discount/coupons/gift cards?

Thanks :)

warning: any time i asked about discounts here it either went unanswered or people told me what i already knew...

i'm unsure about the first issue--it's possible that there's a way to do this in RMS but i need to look again--there's some cool discounting features but here's what doesn't mix with the discounts in RMS--> Global Customers & Item discounts; meaning that you can discount items in various ways, and you can give customers discounts in various ways, but it's very hard to give discounts for PARTICULAR items ONLY to customers. One way is to set the Price Level of all your Global Customers to a different level other than "Standard" and then put in different prices in the corresponding Price Level field of each item you want them to recieve a discount on. Take a look into the Global Customers pricing properties to see what i'm referring to. But, this method is rudimentary.

Regarding "a scenario where customer spend certain amount of money & they are entitled for discount/coupons/gift cards?": This is aka a "Loyalty Program". The ONLY options are these:

1)

-- you give your customers a GiveX card and they process gift cards/track sales via the internet. kinda cool but we couldn't use it because we didn't want our customers to have to carry another discount card since they already need a membership card to shop where we shop. 2)

-- they have a discount/gift coupon solution that is kick ass--get a reseller to give you a live web demo of this--biiiiiig BUT on this.....BUUT it doesn't work with HQ. It only works on the store level so there's no centralized way to control discounts across several stores. it's the only reason we didn't use it. 3) custom software--that's what we had to do, start from scratch and build custom software for our purposes which mimics retailrealm but works at HQ.

As far as i know, regarding loyalty solutions, these are your ONLY options--i called every RMS reseller in this country and found out the hard way.

Good luck!!
