Serial #'s and workorders - huge time waster for me!

I sell alot of computer parts that are serialized and what ticks me off is that if I scan in parts & serial #'s and create a workorder it'll save the serial #'s, but if I make any change at all to the workorder all the serial #'s go bye bye! Also, when ringing up the the sale and finalizing the workorder it asks for serial #'s and if the customer decides to add another item to the sale I need to cancel completing the sale and go back to the work order screen and add in the product, but again this will loose all the serial #'s. Anyways, I'm sick of having to reenter serial #'s multiple times for work orders. Recently I had a $2600 sale of about 40 different items and due to various issues I literally had to input the serial #'s 4 different times due to various changes that were made prior to or during the finalizing of the sale. Another one of the problems was the order was being paid for on account, but was over the credit amount so even though I upped the credit limit in the manager program it still wouldn't take, so I had to cancel the work order sale (again) and reopen and make the changes again and reinput all the serial #'s again.

The way it should work - create a work order and allow adding serial #'s at that time for product that is in-stock, KEEP serial#'s whenever items are added to the work order, KEEP serial #'s when clicking on complete the sale but finding a mistake and canceling the sale to change an item on the work order.

Btw - I spent about 45 minutes ringing up that one large sale due to having to reenter the serial #'s over and over..... argh!

Please someone tell me there is a fix for this gross oversight!

Serial Number are kept only on sales and not on WO. So all you can do is wait to enter all the numbers when you sell it and not when you create teh WO.

Layaways work the same way. I hate it too.

The problem with that is when we build a computer the serialized parts are not available for scanning so we have to handwrite all the serial #'s down to manually enter. When it was Quicksell, you could scan in the serial #'s in a work order and it would keep them even when changes were made. This problem needs to be fixed as it wastes alot of time having to manually input serial #'s versus scanning them in!

Also, you can scan the serial #'s in and convert to a work order and it'll save that information, at least until a change is made to work order than it drops all the serial #'s.
