Signature Capture Pad - MS POS

Dec 15, 2006 6 Replies

I am looking for Credit/Debit device for MS POS. At first, I checked Verifone 1000se pin pad is compatible with RMS or POS. But I want something looked modern.

According to RMS Hardware Compatibility, HHP TT1500, TT3101, TT8810, Optimum L4100, NCR RealPOS 5992 These signature capture devices are compatible with RMS.

Optimum & NCR's device are including "vertual keypad". so does it work with debit card?

HHP TT8500 is replaced with TT1500 & TT3101, so should I assume it will be compatible with RMS?

Can I assume these devices are compatible with MS POS?

Do I need add-on software to use these devices with MS-POS?

Could you tell me any modern device not Verifone 1000se pinpad, to use for MS POS, please?

Thank you,

We currently are using the Ingenico En-Touch 1000. Abanco is doing the processing. At first it was a nightmare, but now that most of the bugs have been worked out it seems to be a great system. No more slips to count, a real time saver. All of the information is available on-line if you need to look up a slip or just verify totals.

Thanks Jay, I called HHP. they said none of their TT products are compatible with RMS. The products on RMS compatiblity list are retired.

And Jeff told me about Ingenico i6550. I will contact Ingenico to find out more info.

Thanks again, it is a big help.

Jay's Processor, Abanco, provides (or at least they used to provide) an Add-in from TPI Software that provides the integration to the Ingenico EnTouch device.

The issue with multi-function devices and RMS is that *currently* RMS is not able to access more than one function at a time through OPOS. I believe that support for "Hydra" devices (that's the OPOS term for multi-function) is on the roadmap for RMS, but I'm not sure which version it is slated for.

You can use the multi-function devices, like the HHP 8XXX series with RMS, but you will only be able to use one function; if you want to use it for Sig Capture, the MSR and PINPad functions will not work.

The TPI/Abanco solution gets around this by having the add-in control the device directly instead of having RMS do it.

MSPOS is a different application from RMS and is not as open to add-in developers. I do not believe that the TPI solution, or any other payment processing add-in, are currently available for MSPOS, but you could check...

Andy, Did you note that he's using MSPOS rather than RMS? Will your add-in work with MSPOS?
