Store Quantity Check

We are using the Store ops and Hq and we are trying to use the POS to check other stores quantities for products but it is coming up with attempts to contact HQ failed we have checked the config and the system talks to each other when downloading and uploading worksheets

Each register needs to be set up to find the HQ Client. Look in Store Ops Administrator, File/Configuration, HQ Client Tab

Did you make sure you have the proper computer name in the address field under the configuration tab in store ops administrator? I remember putting (local) on mine didn't work for me and I tried putting the windows computer name in there and it did the trick. Also my check stores button was not even there when I was having the problem so I don't know if that will help or not.

Well, you may be having firewall issues if you are running the Windows SP2 firewall or another personal firewall product on the system that has HQ Client - try turning off the firewall and testing Check Stores again. Or you may need to give that machine a static IP Address and enter the IP Address into SO Administrator HQ Client tab instead of the machine name. Sometimes Machine names don't resolve correctly, especially under XP Home edition.
