too late to upgrade to 2.0?

Question

Our maintenance plan recently expired (mid-January 2007) and we did not renew it. Upon reflection, we're realizing that RMS 2.0 was released (at least we think so) while we still had a plan. Is it possible to still obtain an upgrade or did we cut the "umbilical cord" and should now abandon all hope of receiving an upgrade now? Can we access other older updates / hotfixes for V1.3 that we previously had access to? Thanks in advance.

I think the official release date was January 15th.

If your maintenance was still in effect as of that date, you should be entitled to the new version (though you won't get any hotfixes released after your plan expired- and I'm sure there will be plenty of those - so the upgrade might not be such a great deal for you).

If your maintenance plan expired on the 14th or before, you're SOL.

Just curious, why did you choose to let the maintenance expire?

I'm interested in this too.  Our RMS tech (works for the company we bought both soft and hardware from) has advised us that we should NOT renew.  In our case, there seems to be nothing at all in v2.0 that we would want and he has been able to handle all software questions for us. We have not needed anything but him and this group in the year we've been running. I know that the contract guarantees an answer here, but I've been fine with the posters alone."Terrible Tom" wrote:
