Save a copy. Then open a copy in notebook and edit away.

Thanks I did that, but how do I save as a xml doc..I can only seem to beabel to save it as a text doc

Notepad is like that... On the save as change the drop down box that says "Text Files" to "All File Types (*.*). This will stop Notepad from adding the .txt extension to the end of your filename.
