I've just ported Quickbooks from an earlier version to my Macintosh and noticed the payroll did not port.
Without purchasing the Intuit Payroll for the Apple how do I setup a payroll function in the Apple version for a single employee company?

The payroll service for the mac is their online service. There is no desktop version like there is on the PC version.
You could do the checks manually. this also means that you will need to do all of the forms manually too.
