Can I import Customer list from home into QB without overwriting current customers?

I have QB Pro 2004 running at work. I decided to do a bunch of stuff at home. Am I able to use QB at home, add customers to it and then export that data (IIF) and bring it into my Master version at work, without overwriting the huge customer list I have? In other words, I want to add customers and not overwrite the entiter customer database.

Yes, you can import customers via IIF without wiping out your existing customers. When you import customers it will use the customer NAME as key, essentially doing a merge. It will overwrite customers that already exist with the exact same NAME and add new customers.

As always with IIF imports, do a test with a copy of your data file to ensure it works to your satisfaction. And even when you do it with the live data, be sure to make a backup prior to the IIF import just in case.
