Certified QB Pro Advisor Questions

I'm considering enrolling in the Pro Advisor Membership program with the goal being to take the courses and become certified. I read the pages on QB's website but would like to know from any certified QB advisors here:

  1. Has your listing on QB's website been beneficial, a non-performer or more trouble than its worth?

  1. If you took the course within the last year approximately how many hours did you devote to course study before becoming certified?

  2. I'm unsure of whether the yearly renewal includes upgrades to all 5 packages/versions or just Premier Accountant.

I should have this certification from a professional standpoint but I'm currently doing at-home course study for another certification which prompts these questions. If the QB courses are pretty time-intensive and/or becoming a certified pro advisor doesn't really garner the benefits its meant to (increased fees, client base, etc) then I'll probably put it to the back burner again. TIA

In the UK there isn't a "certified" advisor only "professional" advisor so no study or exam is needed.

  1. My listing is beneficial. I have been contacted by people needing QuickBooks or general accounting help.
  2. Not applicable to me - see above.

  1. I have just received the top of the range package.

Greatly beneficial.

The course is designed to take approx 16 hrs of study. If you know QB well, it will be much less.

As a QB ProAdvisor, you get one licensed copy of all QB programs every year, for as long as you are a member of the program; that includes Premier Accountant Edition and Enterprise Accountatn Edition and POS Multi-Store.

Being a Certified QB ProAdvisor helps me because that's our concentration. I am a non-traditional CPA in that we do not do any accounting or taxes, just QB and computer consulting.
