When opening QB2006, or previous versions, when the program opens, if it doesn't find the last data file used right away, a box pops up asking which company data files you wish to open. How can I clear this list out so old data files don't appear?

Open any company, then: File > Open Previous Company >
Set Number of Previous Companies (at the bottom of the list) Choose a number small enough to drop the undesired files off the bottom of the list - 0 or 1 would certainly work, 2 or 3 might be sufficient.
From file menu, open previous company, Set number of previous companies to smaller number.
