Custom Report help

I am trying to make a custom report, but am having some difficulties. It may not be possible, I'm not sure. I'm hoping someone can help if it is. I'm using QB Pro 2003.

I want to create a report that is a list of all of my customers that I want to send a year end letter to. I have a custom field for my customers called 'Year End' in which I input 'y' if I they should be sent the letter. I can create this list by modifying the 'Customer Contact List' to add a filter for the 'Year End' field. However, I also want to filter the report to only show customers that have had an invoice issued within the last year, i.e. if you didn't do business with us this year, you don't get a letter. Any suggestions? I am at my wits end.
