Report with Negate Filter

I have created several custom reports by modifying the reports that were closest to the results I needed. They just needed some tweaking. I am now trying to make a report with a built in Negate Expression Filter. I am unable to do this. Just curious if anyone has modified a report and added this filter. I am using notepad to open up the QRP report files then saving them as a Custom QRP file. Any help would be great.

Thank you, Neil

Let me teach you how to fish on this one :)

Just use the filter screen to create the negated filter you want, then when the report is displayed, MEMORIZE it. This just creates another .qrp file in your reports directory that you can further modify or rename.

I'm not sure if it really is possible to create a default filter that is negated, but if it is this process will show you the syntax...

Good Luck!

Ok. After some more tries I found out how to get the Negate Expression.

Begin Filter FieldName = "Item.ItemLookupCode" FilterOp = reportfilteropBetween FilterLoLim = "(FM)" FilterHilim = "(FM)" FilterNegated = True FilterConnector = reportfilterbooleanconAND End Filter

There is if anyone ever needs to use it. Now I have another question that goes along with this filter. I need this to filter out " (FM) " and for me to use the filter correctly I have to set the Operator to Contains. I cannot get Contains to work as part of the filter. Between, Equal, and other Operators are not giving me the results I need. If anyone has ever edited a report filter and use the Contains Operator. Let me know. Thanks for reading my post.

Sincerely, Neil

reportFilterOpLike should do it

Between is just for Dates. Use the memorized report trick I posted a few minutes ago...

Glenn,

Thanks for the memorize trick. That works great for seeing the report structure. I really appreciate the quick response.
