I'd like to be able to create estimates in quickbooks, and later turn them into invoices.
I made a special form - but Qbooks keeps thinking it's an invoice....

Which version of QB are you running? Basic, Pro, Premier?
Basic does not have the ability to create estimates. Pro & Premier do.
If you are running Pro or Premier, you must go to the Customer Center or the Customers drop down menu. Select Estimates. If you are going to customize a form, you must customize an Estimates form.
