Import and Export

I am working with QB 6. I was thinking about adding a custom field, exporting the customer list to Excel, copying and pasting the data that needs to be entered, and import the customer list back to QB.

Will this methodology work or will I end up screwing something up? In doing it this way, I will save several hours time instead of opening eac customer and job and entering the required information.

It should work fine. I have done similar exports/imports. Make sure and do a backup of your QuickBooks file before the import just in case.
