Problem importing items using MYSQL Import from EMS Hitech

Aug 15, 2005 6 Replies

I am attempting to set up RMS. I have an excel item list from my largest supplier. It has the MFG ID (which I believe is used to generate the UPC code), Description, sale price, cost, UPC code, Category ID. I have added a category ID field to the file as well.

But every time I map this file to my RMS DB Item table and try to import I get the same error: "Key columns are not defined".

Since it says "Columns" I assume the problem is with the excel file? Or is it telling me that I am failing to load a key field in the Item table?

What are you using to do the import ? Are you using SQL Server Enterprise Manager ?

Mihir Diviasoft, Inc

I am using EMS Database Management Solutions My SQL Importer which is a utility that was recomended on this board ( I assumed that the enterprise version of SQL Server cost to much. THis was $39 and is just meant to import into a SQL DB from excel, csv, etc

Any ideas?

Are you using the SQL Server Import Tool from EMS or the MySQL Import Tool? MySQL is a different database environment

I am using the MS SQL Data Import from EMS.

Is that the wrong tool?
