Using EMS SQL to Importing Data Into RMS

I didn't use any of the tag along fields, but my item import using EMS went smoothly.

OTOH, I imported all of my customers with outstanding balances using EMS and that didn't work very well... The QSimport tool must make an entry into an AR table or something because the EMS-imported customers showed a balance but didn't generate A/R balances when we closed the billing cycle. I ended up re-importing the entire customer list with QSimport.

If you'd like to see a sample of my data for comparison to yours, let me know.

Tom, Did you use the Dapartment ID or Category ID fields and if so did these import without any issues?

Thank you!

Did you get a list of all your Departments and Categorys with there corresponding ID's, if not try running an SQL query in SO Admin. Open SO Admin, go to File menu and click on Connect. Enter your Password. Once connected go to the Query menu and click on New. In the Query window type Department and press F5 to run the query, then go to File menu --> Export and save it as a CSV file. Do the same for Category. Then update your Item file with corresponding ID for each Department and Category.

I'm having some trouble using EMS SQL to import items into RMS, specifically with the following Item fields: Department ID, Category ID, Supplier ID, Tag Along Item, Tag Along QTY, etc....

These fields won't update the data I provide in the excel file being imported. Most of the other fields like Look Up Code, Description, Price, Cost, etc, update perfectly.

Has anyone encountered this before? Does anyone have any thoughts on this one? Please help.

Thank you!
