Problem with Custom Fields

I created a Custom Field for each Customer named Country to show what Country the customer is in.

I add this field to the Sales by Item Detail Report as a Column.

But the country I entered into the Custom Field for the Customer does not appear.

Why?

I then added the Custom Field to the Invoice... where it appeared blank with no data in it... even though I had entered a Country when I creaded each Customer.

I can enter the Country into the field in the Invoice and it shows up in the Sales by Item Detal Report...

But... why, since I entered the Country when I created the Customer... doesn't the Country show up when I add the field to the "Sales by Item Detail Report" or the Invoice?

Well, I'm answering all my own questions today.

The problem here was that the Invoices were created before I added the Custom Field to the Customer.

After I created the Custom field for the Customer... for each new invoice, the data entered into the Custom Field... the Country of the Customer in this case showed up fine.

For old invoices I opened each one and changed the customer then changed it back and the Country Field was updated correctly.
