What needs to be done to reliably work on two different Company files where one computer is the "server" and another computer is a "client"?
Can the client switch from one file to the other without the server switching / opening files first? Are there precautions so that the "hosting" computer isn't confused somehow?

Yes, thanks for the reply. I figured it out. Turns out Intuit has a network analyzer / fixer for this purpose. Some firewall ports were opened up using that tool. Don't ask me why it sorta worked anyway!!
