Programmatically Importing

What's the latest word regarding programmatically importing transactions (invoice) data from another program into QuickBooks Pro

2005? Use IIF or something else? I'm just starting this project and want to use what is recommended for the long term.

Thanks!

IIF is still available but is supposed to be phased out at some future date. The new XML based Software Development Kit is better but requires more work to implement. See

1) You refer to the "XML based Software Development Kit". That's the SDK 4.0 correct? 2) Do you know if I can download/review instructions regarding how to use the SDK 4.0 to programmatically import transactions PRIOR to actually download/installing?

SDK manuals can be downloaded. Explore the link Karl gave you, starting with support.

Better yet, forget using the SDK. It will require too much effort on the part of this group to see you through.

I am very interested in this becuase I was going to recommend that my client (QB2005 premier user) utilized the IIF Transaction Creator by Big Red Consulting. (I probably heard about it on this NG) My client has to post aprox 300 invoices per month and we have found the memorizd transactions feature to be unreliable/unpredicatable...trouble controling invoice numbering. I was intending to use the IIF Transaction Creator on an ongoing basis. Does anyone have any more info about this. As you can probably tell I am not a hgh tech user. Alana
