Q: Determining Customer Base Growth

anyone know how to do this?

Should be simple enough; I just want to have the 'date of first invoice' on my customer list and sort by it, so that I can look at the monthly growth both by average new customers per month and as a growth percentage.

Can't seem to figure it out. Any suggestions?

Unless there is a new feature in the US version of QB 2006, you cannot add any additional information to the customer list. What you can do is create a Custom Field in which you record the first invoice date, then add this field to a report. If this isn't sufficient, look for

3rd-party software that works with QB, or look for another accounting program.

Ya, I thought about that, but it would involve a lot of work, unless there was a way to associate the field with the date on the first invoice automatically.

I bet this could be done through the SDK. However, I am not 100% up on the SDK. But you could use a database software (like MS-Access) to create your report.

The SDK should add alot of power to QB. Let's face it, it would be extremely difficult to create one application that fits everyone's entire needs.

"SDK" = "Software Developers' Kit". I may be making an unwarranted assumption or an invalid deduction, but Jill doesn't seem to be a software developer so I doubt your suggestion will help her.

Your final sentence, however, is certainly a reasonable statement.
