Quicken to Quickbooks mapping

Apr 12, 2005 1 Replies

Can anyone help me with a list of mappings from Quicken to Quickbooks - kind of like - Accounts in Quicken - come over as Accounts in QB, Categories in Quicken come over as Income or Expense accounts in QB etc ...

I am helping a small business convert - and while the conversion tool is quite easy - they would like to understand how their data moves and what the mappings are.

Even if you don't have the complete list of all possible "constructs" in Quicken and how they map to their counterpart "constructs" in QB - if you could give me a partial list - I would sincerely appreciate it.

I am not an accountant - and am trying to explain how the conversion would work and how when transactions move from a non-double entry system like Quicken to Quickbooks - the compensating second entry would be created by the migration utility.

I would deeply appreciate any help on what goes on under the covers of this migration
