Registering after a HDD crash

Apr 27, 2006 3 Replies

I am a little peeved at Intuit Canada. I had a to install QB2000 on a new hard disk and it will not let me register on line. Every time I click on Online, I _immediately_ get

| Quickbooks Online Registration Form | | Y|our session has been dropped due either inactivity, | or you navigate out of sequence. To register your product | please return to your QuickBooks application.

So I decide to do it by phone and, dialing the number posted

1-877-442-8912 I get a recording that the number has been changed to
1-900-643-2000. Dialing that one gets a recording that the call will be $ 2.99 per minute.

Has anyone advice as to how I can make through with the Online registration as I am not really looking forward to having these hour long calls with Support when they sold me V4 that would not upgrade my V2. I haven't used it yet but only have 17 uses left as the new install would not accept my saved Update 80R10 until I found on the Canadian web page that R10 will only upgrade from R5 up and the R5 must be loaded first.

Help.

Is there perhaps a registration code that you may have written down from before that you can just enter?

It used to be on a post-it note on the inside cover of the manual. Seems to have gone walk abouts.

My immediate problem is solved as I found a copy of a screen print I had made when I put QB onto another HDD the last time.

I suggest to anyone to make hard copies of a screen print or copy the Registration Information at Ctrl+1 with QB open.

I also am not thrilled with Intuit Canada. Since they are creating these hoops to register their product they should inform prospective customers that they will not support their product after 3 years. Arno
