Return Merchandise Authorization form

Jan 16, 2006 6 Replies

Hi all,

I need a way of tracking returned merchandise. In this company, many time someone will call with a complaint about the product and we ship out a new one the sane day without receiving the defect item. We would like to track this and possible give our customers a return authorization form (trackable with a number).

Thanks! Tracy

Possibly issue your customer a credit memo and use that number as an RMA?

We bill them for the replacement along with a note that we'll issue a credit when the original makes it back.

We've found this is a good way to incentivize the customer.

QB does not handle RMAs.

Thanks,

I'm finding that QB doesn't do a lot of the reporting that I would like. I would also like to be able to track marketting contacts in the same database as sales, and QB drops the ball on this as well. Does anyone have some suggestions as to which accounting software might be a more viable option for me.

thanks! Tracy

I don't know all your requirements, but something like Netsuite might be appropriate.
