Scheduled Backup question

May 06, 2005 1 Replies

I can't seem to get Scheduled Backup to work and am looking for suggestions. I'm running Win XP Pro SP2, QB2004 Pro, with 2 users.

1 machine has the QBW file and is where I am attempting to run the backup. The other machine, when using QB, accesses the file via a netowrk connection. For the time the backup is scheduled, both machines are NOT running QB. The machine that has the backup scheduled (where the file resides) is in single user mode. When I look at the Task Scheduler in Windows, I don't see any item for QB. The USER name I put in the scheduled backup is the WIN XP user name. The user DOES NOT have a passowrd. I can run a backup manually wihtout a problem. The QBBACKUP.LOG file does show the manual backups, but doesn't show anything about the scheduled backups.

Any suggestions wous be apprecaited. TIA>

If your XP login does not require a password, the XP scheduler does not operate.

Aside from the obvious fix of supplying a password, there are ways of disabling this requirement.
