accounts not showing on start page

I just installed Quicken 2008, and for some reason my accounts are showing on the programs start page. Anybody know where/how in the program I can fix this? Thx -- M9

I haven't a clue what you're talking about. If you want help (from me, at least), you'll need to provide very specific details describing your problem.

OK. I have Quicken 2008, starter addition. When I fire up the program, it opens to a sort of summary page, which the program calls "Quicken Home." On this page, there is a table on the left, under "One Step Update," with the headings "Account," "Edit," "Last Activity," and "Balance." Even though I've added all my accounts to the program, there is nothing showing under these headings, although the bottom line does show my balance. I'm assuming (maybe incorrectly) that my accounts should all be listed there, but they aren't, even though I have not indicated in preferences that I want them hidden. Shouldn't they be showing there? If not, why are there those headings?

Hope that's specific enough.

Thanks -- M9

It seems like it should be specific enough, but I can't find any display like that in Q2008 Premier. "Why" is often a difficult question to answer ... even more difficult when I can't reproduce or view the problem.

I don't suppose your "table" has a title?

Q2008 has something called the "Account Bar" (which can be on the left or the right) but it pertains to every Quicken screen, not just the Home, and it doesn't have all those fields. And Q2008 has an Account List ... but that's not part of any screen. Then there is something called "All Accounts" which can be selected to appear on a user created Home "View" ... but it doesn't have those headings.

If your accounts do not appear in the Account Bar, the Account List, or the All Accounts home page display, then I'd think you have some sort of corruption.

The Home page is usually customizable (I can create new "views" for my Home page), and most of the data implied by the headings in your "table" should be available in other Quicken displays. You might want to experiment with creating your own Home page view.

And hope that someone else with the Starter Edition has figured out the answer to your question.

That's true (well, it won't "convert" files from previous versions, anyway).

But I don't understand the relevance of that limitation to the question of this thread.
