Address Book not printing

I'm not able to print envelopes with H&B 2007. Google this newsgroup to find some discussion of this problem back in March. It seems to be a known problem but no solution so far.

Same problem here that started about a month ago. Sent a trouble ticket to intuit but only got the canned normal printing troubleshooting answer. The dialog box that used to pop-up for selecting the printer never appears but something is happening in the backgroud... just goes right back to the address list. Love the software 2007 H+B but the support they give give it useless.

Right -- that's what happens to me. Dialog box never appears.

can you print other stuff (besides envelopes) in quicken 2007? I myself cannot. And, I followed the canned instructions from intuit re printing -- including uninstalling quicken and all of the printer drivers, then reinstalling -- and nothing helped. I can print just fine from all of my other applications. Frank

Just FYI, I'm running 2007 Q H&B and have no printing problems. If I can help you troubleshoot in any way, please let me know.

I don't think I had Q2007 the last time this issue came up here, but I have it now ... though I'm really not sure how much, if any, light I can shed..

I don't have a printer available to the machine where I have Q2007 installed, so I can't say what I would see if I tried to send an envelope to a printer. But I don't have any problem printing an envelope to a pdf file. Q2007 Premier, R5.

One thing I think you should try is to create a New Quicken file, enter a name and address, and try to print an envelope. Perhaps something in your address book is corrupted.

Nuts. I meant to add that I have other printer drivers installed, and even when one of those "real" printers is my "default" Quicken printer, I still get that second dialog box when I elect to print an envelope. The dialog box that allows me to select another printer ... the one you're not getting.

Also, just out of curiosity: what happens if you uncheck the box to "Print Return Address"? See if possibly the return address is corrupted.

I print invoices every day from my 2007 H&B version without any problems. I can't remember the last time I tried to print any reports so I don't know if that works or not.

I tried the new file, but have the same problem. Also tried unchecking the return address -- no improvement.

It's just envelopes that are failing -- I can do a print list fine and have no trouble printing invoices (thank goodness!)

FWIW, my Quicken folder contains the following file: printenv.exe 50 KB 5/7/2007 2:17 PM Does that match yours?

Yes, that matches the one on my system.

What happens if you double click on your copy? When I try this with mine, I get the hour glass for a moment and then nothing -- not that different from what happens when I try to print an envelope within Quicken.

I get the "Quicken Print Envelopes" window with the message: "Failed to create empty document" I click OK, and the window closes.

We might be on to something.
