Attachments still broken in Q2008r4

Is there *any* word when Quicken plans to release a fix for the Attachments in Quicken 2008? I thought this latest release 4 was supposed to fix the Attachment issues (not being able to attach more than 1 attachment and have it show/no icons for the attachment either). This has been a problem since 2007 r 5 (if I recall right). I upgraded hoping it would be fixed and still after 4 more releases it's not fixed.

I don't doubt your problems with attachments, but it is not universal. I have posted a screenshot of a TEST file in my Quicken 2008 H&B. Transaction attachments are 2 PDFs, 2 bmps, and 2 jpgs.

I'm running Quicken 2007 R5, and have no problems with attachments. The icons appear, and I can have more than one.

I do not experience this problem. I can attach multiple PDF and image files. The attachment icon's show in the Quicken register.

I can attach multiple .pdf documents to a register entry although I cannot delete attachments. I get the following error message: "The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process". Any ideas on why I cannot DELETE an attachment?

Yes the process that is still using the attachment is Adobe Acrobat. Quicken is to stupid to stop the viewer, THEN delete the attachment. The only way to delete it is to go into the directory that holds the attachments and delete it manually.

I can attach multiple PDF files but not image files unless I save them as PDF files first.

I wonder if all the differences could maybe boil down to which OS we're using ??? I'm using Vista Home Premium. I have no Attachment icons and can only attach 1 graphic file (that I can see). However, if I attempt to attach others and then go back and delete the one showing, then the next one I attached will pop-up so apparently the attachments are attaching, just not showing. Weired.

I am also using Vista Home Premium and am experiencing exactly the same thing. The funny thing is if I attach non graphic files (.pdf, .doc, .xls) everything is fine. I think the problem may be in the program that is the default viewer for attachments does not play well with Quicken. My default viewer is Windows Live Photo Gallery. What is yours?

Interesting thought Mark. I wasn't sure so I had to go look it up. It appears that my default viewer for .jpg (which is the extension on Quicken attachments) is, Windows Photo Gallery. Is that the same as Windows LIVE Photo Gallery?

I have to admit though that when I go directly to the attachment file in Explorer and double-click it, it opens in Photo Gallery which doesn't look like the same viewer that the attachment opens in, wh en opened from within Quicken, so I'm not too sure. Is there some place in Quicken to verify what viewer Quicken is using ??

I don't think it's necessarily a problem with Quicken. I think it uses the default browser to display image files and the problem is Quicken is incompatible with IE7. I'd be willing to bet that it works fine for those people running IE6 or FireFox, Mozilla or Netscape.
