You'll either need to use a backup program or write a batch file to copy the backed up files. I use Backup Magic by Moon Software. It's inexpensive and saves files in their native formats, so all I have to do is go grab my backup file and copy it to where I need it. No need to restore. Backup Magic will also mirror or do incremental backups. Even though it has a GUI, it will write out a DOS command line that you can copy into a *.bat file and fire off with a scheduled task. Check it out at:

I use "vice-versa pro" -- it looks at the directory "My Documents" and syncronizes it to an entirely different drive (in case the other fails).

On a weekly basis, I use Norton Ghost 9.0 to take a "snapshot" of the entire hard disk to an external, USB2.0 disk drive. I keep several weeks worth of images to ensure I can fall back. I always disconnect it from the power and computer in case of lightening strikes.

I also burn a DVD of the system about every 3 months and store it in my safe...

Paranoid? Yes, b/c if I loose all of the data in Quicken, I'd never find our money!

I use Total Commander (formerly Windows Commander). The steps are simple. I copy the entire contents of My Documents (which includes all my Quicken files) to my second hard drive. If Total Commander detects a matching file, it asks if you want to overwrite it. One of the choices is to overwrite only older files. This method has worked perfectly for me.
